The Assistant Director for Student Activities – Evening & Weekend Programs has primary responsibility for implementing evening and weekend student activity programming that will further the development of a vibrant campus life, particularly for residential and evening students. This position is responsible for identifying and coordinating student focused evening and weekend programming in the campus pub. This position is expected to partner with Athletics, Civic Engagement and Career Development, University Ministry, Residence Life, and Campus Recreation staff to further develop and deliver a coordinated and regular series of weekend and evening programs is essential. This is a live-on position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, promote, and implement evening and weekend programming for all students to include supporting student organization programming efforts in these spaces that will enhance the student social experience on campus.
  • Coordinate regular entertainment schedule for the campus pub to include partnering with ARAMARK to identify and promote special events in the campus pub (such as food and drink tastings).
  • Collaborate with Athletics, Campus Recreation, Civic Engagement and Career Development Center, and Residence Life staff to establish regular series of evening and weekend programming.
  • Promote and market all events through a variety of outlets, including RattlerTracks
  • Provide support to departmental programmatic initiatives.
  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and key university departments to support continued development of a vibrant, energetic campus community
  • Implement assessment and evaluation plan for areas of responsibility
  • Attend SATP staff meetings and retreats as well as relevant divisional and institutional meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Activities
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Department, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, student leaders and others in the promotion of school spirit programs and initiative
  • Attend and participate in departmental, divisional and institutional meetings and events as directed.
  • Serve as an Instructor (or co-instructor) for the freshman success course, ND0101 Personal and Academic Development
  • Support Residence Life team by:
    • Providing support related to emergency situations in assigned residence hall
    • Coordinating monthly social activities for residents of assigned building
  • Serve on Divisional and University committees as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.
  • Two years professional experience working with student activities or related student affairs work is preferred
  • Evidence of student involvement during collegiate years
  • Sensitivity to and acceptance of personal and cultural differences and the ability to relate well with persons of diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and parents
  • Ability to use MSOffice Suite applications, as well as Internet resources, in the performance of job requirements
